Ferro Chrome(FeCr) is an iron alloy composed of chromium, iron, carbon and small amounts of impurities. Ferro Chrome is made from a mixture of chromite and iron in an electric arc furnace. Chrome is produced by carbothermal reduction of chromite in electric arc. The addition of chromium can increase the strength and yield point of the steel, and slightly reduce the elongation. The presence of chromium in carbon steel increases its hardness and wear resistance. Most LC Ferro Chrome can be used to produce stainless steel.

1. LC Ferro Chrome is mainly used as a steelmaking alloy additive, which is used for steelmaking refining after addition.

2. As an alloying agent, LC Ferro Chrome can improve the hardenability of steel and increase its wear resistance and hardness.

3. LC Ferro Chrome is used in the steel production process to correct the percentage of chromium without causing undesirable changes in the percentage of carbon or trace elements. It is also a low cost alternative to chromium metal in superalloys and other speciality smelting applications.
