There are various alternatives to ferrosilicon on the market today.
First, calcium-silicon alloy is a product synthesized by adding calcium metal and pure silicon carbide in metallurgical iron water. It has antioxidant performance and stable composition content, and can replace part of the application of ferrosilicon.
Secondly, synthetic slag silicon is a product prepared by utilizing waste slag, pure silicon powder and other materials in the process of converter smelting. It has excellent anti-carbonization and anti-oxidation properties and is widely used in the iron and steel industry.
Third, there are also products such as titanium-silicon alloys and aluminum-silicon-calcium alloys, which can also replace some applications of ferrosilicon.
However, compared with ferrosilicon, these ferrosilicon alternative products still have many limitations. For example, although calcium silica alloy and synthetic slag silicon can replace some applications of ferrosilicon, they have high cost and small production scale. Titanium-silicon alloy, aluminum-silicon calcium alloy and other products have some excellent performance, but the application range is small and can not cover more areas.
Although there are various ferrosilicon substitutes on the market, there is no product that can really replace ferrosilicon completely. As a mature industrial raw material, ferrosilicon has stable performance, mature manufacturing process and high market demand. Therefore, in the foreseeable future, ferrosilicon will remain one of the leading products in this field.
