Ferrosilicon Manufacturers Introduce Ferrosilicon

Ferrosilicon is a composite iron alloy used in the production of ferroalloys and chemical industries, typically as a reducing agent. It comes in various physical forms, including ferrosilicon balls, ferrosilicon powder, and ferrosilicon blocks.

Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy produced by smelting coke, scrap steel, and quartz in an electric furnace. The fixed carbon content of the coke is greater than 82%, and the ash content is generally less than 8%. Excessive ash content in the coke can easily lead to slagging on the charge surface, affecting the permeability of the material surface. The ash content in the coke is also a major factor in increased slag content and slag adhesion.

Ferrosilicon balls have a relatively uniform particle size and allow for accurate feeding. They also provide excellent deoxidation, shortening deoxidation time, saving energy, improving steelmaking efficiency, and reducing labor intensity.

Ferrosilicon balls can quickly adjust the trace iron content of molten steel, as the appropriate silicon and iron-carbon elements are added to the steel as required. When the temperature reaches the solubility standard, the silicon and oxygen in the steel react to form silicon dioxide, causing the oxides in the steel to float on the surface. This can be easily screened out, improving the purity and quality of the steel.
