Manganese (chemical symbol Mn, atomic number 25, CAS number 7439-96-5) is an element with significant industrial and biological value, boasting a wide range of applications. It exists in nature as manganese ores (such as manganese oxide, manganese carbonate, and manganese silicate), and manganese nodules can also be found on the seabed.   • Catalysts and Pigments: Manganese dioxide (MnO₂) is used as a catalyst in many chemical reactions and as a brown pigment. Potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) is a strong oxidizing agent used in disinfection and water treatment.
