Low Sulfur High Carbon Carbon Enhancer GPC 98.5
Carbon enhancer (i.e. Carburizing Agent or Recarburizing Agent) is an indispensable additive in iron and steel smelting, and its use can save a large amount of iron ore usage, while increasing the usage of scrap steel and scrap iron, reducing production costs and saving non-renewable resources. In other words, the use of carburant can not only increase the carbon content in steel, but also reduce the sulphur content in steel, which is a kind of multi-purpose additive. Graphitised petroleum coke carburizer is mainly made from petroleum smelting coke through a special process of graphitisation, which is widely used in the production of ductile iron and graphite cast iron casting.
Types of Carbon Enhancers
Carbon enhancers are mainly divided into two categories: graphitised carbon enhancers and non-graphitised carbon enhancers.
- Graphitised carbon enhancers: waste graphite electrodes, graphite electrode trimmings and chips, natural graphite pellets, graphitised coke (Petroleum Coke Graphitized) and silicon carbide.
- Non-graphitised carbon enhancers: bituminous coke, Calcines Petroleum Coke, acetylene coke briquettes and calcined anthracite.
According to the casting purposes, materials and methods of use can be specifically divided into the following.
1. According to the casting use points
- Ductile iron carbonized: C>98.5% S<0.05% mainly graphitised petroleum coke and graphitised electrode. High absorption rate and fastest absorption time.
- Grey Iron Carbon Enhancer: C>90% S<0.5%Mainly non-graphitised petroleum coke and calcined coal. The absorption rate is around 85%.
- Steelmaking Carbon Increasing Agent: C:75-98%Mainly calcined coal, graphite ball and natural graphite crushed.
- Speciality Carbon Enhancer: Used for brake pads and cored wire. Generally 0-0.5mm/0.5-1mm petroleum coke.
2. According to the material
- Metallurgical Coke Carbon Enhancer: for cupola coke.
- Calcined Coal Carbonizer:C:90-93%,S:0.3-0.5%. Used in steel making and grey iron.
- Petroleum coke carbonized: C:96-99%,S:0.3-0.7%. Used in steel making, grey iron and special carbon enhancer.
- Graphitised petroleum coke:C:98-99.5%,S:0.03-0.05% including graphitised petroleum coke and graphitised electrodes for ductile iron.
- Natural graphite carbonizer: C:65-99%, used in steel making.
- Composite Carbon Enhancer: Artificially manufactured from graphite powder, coke powder and petroleum coke as raw materials C:93-97%, S:0.09-0.7%.
3. According to the use of method points
Mainly used in melting electric furnace carbon riser, holding electric furnaces carbon riser, converter carbon riser, cupola carbon riser, as well as iron ladle carbon riser (carbon riser with flow).
