Ferro Silicon Production Process
1. Mixing of quartz sand and coke: High purity quartz sand and coke are mixed in a certain proportion to form the raw material for ferrosilicon production.
2. Heating: The mixture of quartz sand and coke is put into the electric arc furnace, and the electric arc heating device is activated, so that the raw material is rapidly warmed up.
3. Electrochemical reaction: As the temperature rises, the raw material begins to undergo an electrochemical reaction, producing a large amount of gas. These gases are discharged through the outlet of the electric arc furnace. At the same time, the silicon and iron in the raw materials begin to melt and dissolve each other.
4. Impregnation: When the electrochemical reaction reaches a certain level, an impregnating agent is added to the arc furnace. The impregnating agent reduces the chemical activity of the dissolved iron in the melt and prevents oxidation and evaporation of the iron.
5. Alloy casting: After a certain time reaction, the melt of silicon and iron has been completely mixed, the formation of ferrosilicon alloy. At this point, the melt in the furnace is poured into the mold and cooled to the desired shape.
