Product Introduction

Ferromanganese is an alloy used as a deoxidizer for steel. This alloy contains a high content of manganese. Ferromanganese is basically an alloy of manganese and iron. Mainly used in the manufacture of flat steel, manganese rich steel and silicon manganese stainless steel products.

There are three types of ferromanganese and they are

1.High-Carbon ferromanganese (carbon: 6-8%)

2.Medium-carbon ferromanganese (carbon: 1.0-2.0%)

3.Low-carbon ferromanganese (carbon: 1% max)

Application

Steel industry:  Ferromanganese is a cheap deoxidizer. Desulfurization refers to the removal of harmful substances such as sulfur from steel. Ferromanganese can effectively achieve the purpose of desulfurization, which is beneficial to reducing the content of harmful elements in steel and improving the quality of steel.

Foundry industry:  Adding ferromanganese to cast iron can be used as an inoculant and spheroidizing agent for ductile iron to prevent the formation of carbides, promote graphite precipitation, shorten the spheroidization time, reduce the form of impurities in hot metal, and improve the quality and quality of cast iron. performance.
