FerroChrome
Product Description
Ferrochrome (FeCr) is an iron alloy consisting of chromium, iron, carbon and a small amount of impurities, and is one of the main alloying agents used in the steel industry. Adding ferrochrome to steel can significantly improve the oxidation resistance of steel and increase the corrosion resistance of steel.
Ferrochrome, as a steelmaking additive, can be used to produce various special steels with high strength, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, such as stainless steel, acid-resistant steel, heat-resistant steel, ball bearing steel, spring steel, tool steel, etc. Ferrochrome is widely used in metallurgical industry, refractory materials, chemical industry and other industries.
Specification

Application
Ferrochrome can be classified according to its carbon content Micro carbon, Low carbon, Medium carbon and High carbon.
Low Carbon Ferro Chrome (LC FeCr), with a carbon content of less than 0.5 per cent, is a ferrous alloy used to regulate the proportion of chromium in the production of steel without the addition of carbon and other unwanted components. It is also used by the superalloy industry.
Medium carbon ferrochrome (MC FeCr) has a carbon content between 1-4% and is used in the foundry industry and in steel mills where refining capacity is limited but a low silicon content is required.
High carbon Ferrochrome (HC FeCr) can be produced by blast furnace, electric furnace and plasma furnace. The most commonly used method for modern production of high chromium ferrochrome is submerged arc furnace smelting. The basic principle of electric furnace smelting high carbon ferrochrome is to reduce chromium and iron oxides with carbon.
