Ferromanganese is widely used in steelmaking industry, foundry industry, ferroalloy industry and other industrial production.

  • Iron and steel industry: Ferromanganese is an indispensable deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steel making industry. Good steel needs to be deoxidized and desulfurized when smelting, and the use of deoxidizer will greatly increase its cost, so ferromanganese is a kind of cheap deoxidizer, and desulfurization refers to the detachment of sulfur and other hazardous substances from the steel, and ferromanganese can be very good to achieve the purpose of desulfurization to effectively reduce the content of hazardous elements in the steel and improve the quality of the steel. In the steel making industry, every ton of steel produced consumes about 3~5kg of 75% ferromanganese.
  • Foundry industry: Ferromanganese can be added into cast iron to be used as the inoculant and spheroidizing agent of ductile iron, and it can prevent the formation of carbide, promote the precipitation of graphite and greatly shorten the spheroidizing time, and it can also greatly reduce the form of impurities in the iron water, enhance the quality of cast iron, and improve the performance of cast iron.
