Manganese is a metal with specific gravity of 7.3, melting point of 1244℃ and boiling point of 2097℃, and it is not eroded by oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen at room temperature. However, manganese mn is brittle and can not be applied directly, so manganese is added into steel to form a special structure of the steel to be used. Manganese has the role of deoxidation, desulfurization and preventing the formation of steel grain edge carbide, etc., when added to steel, the steel strength, hardness, wear resistance, toughness, hardenability have been improved and improved, so there has been a wide range of production of high-carbon high-mn wear-resistant steel, low carbon high-mn stainless steel, high-carbon high-mn non-magnetic steel, high-mn heat-resistant steel, and so on. Manganese can also be generated with copper, nickel, aluminum, magnesium and other heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloy materials.

 

Manganese Mn is an essential raw material for the manufacture of steel, and about 90% of the manganese produced globally is consumed in the production of steel. Mn improves the physical properties of steel by eliminating impurities such as sulfur and oxygen during the steelmaking process and by improving strength, hardness and resistance to wear. Manganese also improves the rolling and forging qualities of steel as well as its weldability. As there is no substitute for mn at present, its use in the steel industry will remain irreplaceable for the foreseeable future.

China is one of the world's largest producers of manganese processed products, such as silicomanganese alloys, high carbon ferromanganese, electrolytic manganese metal, electrolytic manganese dioxide and manganese sulphate. 70% of China's supply of mn

ore was supplied by domestic minerals until 2003. Since 2003, the rapid development of the domestic iron and steel industry has significantly boosted China's domestic demand for ferromanganese alloys, leading to changes in China's supply situation. As China's domestic manganese ore resources could not meet the demand for ferro manganese alloys, China began to import large quantities of high-grade mn ores to meet this demand and became increasingly dependent on foreign manganese mn ore supplies.
