Silicon carbide powder (SIC powder) is a covalent compound rarely found in nature, in which carbon (C) and silicon (Si) are bonded to each other in a one-to-one manner.
Silicon carbide is used as an abrasive and refractory material because of its high hardness, good heat resistance and thermal conductivity. In addition, because of its excellent heat resistance at high temperatures, silicon carbide has recently attracted attention as a material for semiconductors and the like.

SIC powder has a small coefficient of expansion, good chemical stability, good thermal conductivity, etc. It is widely used in the industries of cemented carbide abrasives, coated abrasives and free lapping, electronic product lapping, refractory materials, special ceramics, foam ceramics, coatings and plastic additives modification, automotive parts, military aviation, and iron and steel deoxidisers.
