Product Description

Silicon carbide 97(SiC 97) is a compound of silicon and carbon and is a black ceramic. Compared with other fine ceramics, SIC 97 has little loss of mechanical strength in the high temperature range (over 1000°C) and is extremely wear-resistant. In addition, due to its strong covalent bond, it is the hardest of various fine ceramics, has excellent corrosion resistance, and has good sliding properties in liquids. Using these characteristics, it is used in mechanical seals, chemical pump bearings, etc. It is also used in wafer forks in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

SIC 97 particles can be sintered together to form very hard ceramics and are widely used in applications that require high durability, such as ceramic plates for automotive brakes, automotive clutches and bulletproof vests.
