Product Introduction

Manganese is a versatile base metal that exists in various forms and compounds, each with different properties and uses. Manganese metals come in many different forms. It is a key ingredient in steel production, battery technology and many chemical processes.

Types of Manganese Metals

1. Electrolytic Manganese Metal Flakes

Electrolytic manganese metal flakes are also often called electrolytic manganese metal or manganese metal flakes because of their irregular flaky appearance. It is a high-purity manganese produced by an electrolytic process. The main methods for refining manganese metal are thermal method (pyrometallurgy) and electrometallurgy (wet method). As an important industrial raw material, electrolytic manganese metal flakes have become an indispensable raw material in various fields such as the steel industry, aluminum alloy industry, magnetic material industry, and chemical industry due to their high purity and wide application. With the progress of metallurgical technology and the increase of market demand, the production and application of electrolytic manganese metal flakes will continue to expand.

2. Manganese Alloys

The most common manganese alloys are FeMn and silicomanganese.

FeMn:
FeMn is an alloy with a high manganese content, typically 70 to 80 percent, with the remainder being iron. Depending on the carbon content, FeMn can also be categorized as low carbon ferromanganese, medium carbon ferromanganese and high carbon ferromanganese. FeMn is mainly used in the steel industry to improve the hardness, toughness and wear resistance of steel. It acts as a deoxidizer, removing oxygen from steel water and preventing the formation of harmful oxides that can weaken steel.

Silicomanganese:
Silicomanganese is another important alloy, consisting of 60 to 70 percent manganese, 15 to 30 percent silicon, and small amounts of carbon and other elements. It is produced in a similar way to ferro manganese, except that silica is added during the smelting process. Silicomanganese is used as a deoxidizer in the steelmaking process and helps to improve the quality of steel by removing impurities.
