Silicon Carbide Briquette, also known as Silicon Carbon Alloy Balls. Silicon Carbide Briquette is made of silicon carbon alloy slag and powder by mechanical pressing. It can replace ferrosilicon, silicon carbide and carburising agent.
Silicon Carbide Briquettes are produced mainly for cupola melting of grey iron and ductile iron with the aim of introducing silicon and carbon into iron. The advantage of silicon carbide over ferrosilicon products is the added carbon component, which provides carbon units to the iron and reduces the need for coke in the cupola. The reduction in coke in turn increases the melting rate.
Adding a certain amount of silicon carbide briquette to steel is not only effective in increasing the deoxidisation rate of the steel, but also improves the reactivity of the steel, increasing the deoxidisation rate and helping to increase productivity.

Application

1. It can achieve the purpose of deoxidation, alloying and carburizing in the process of steelmaking, reduce the labor intensity of workers, reduce environmental pollution and reduce costs.

2. The use of silicon carbide briquette for steelmaking can be used as a quick-release application, and the oxygen price of silicon carbide briquette is much cheaper than that of other conventional ferroalloys. Smelting costs can often be reduced by 10-40 per cent when using silicon carbide briquette as a smelting material.

3. Due to the large specific gravity of the silicon carbon briquette, it can deoxidise the steel in the form of lumps, which makes the deoxidisation of the steel water effective.
